Boston in my heart- WIAW

It’s safe to say that I’ve had my fair share of crying due to Boston.. Sending prayers to Boston!

But as following any tragedy we have to pick ourselves back up and keep on going, so for that reason I’m going to do WIAW as planned.

You should all know about my breakfast at this point.. hasn’t changed in a long long time..

Have I mentioned lately that I have exams ALL THE TIME!! Well, in better news, I’m almost done!! Starbucks for some studying with an Americano with heavy cream, as per.

By the time I got home I ate so fast I didn’t take a picture of lunch.. but it was essentially this.. without the spaghetti squash.. recipe to come!

Apple and banana to follow.. the banana wasn’t ripe enough, but it was still yummy!!

Looks like ice cream or a shake huh? Well it’s 1/2 frozen banana, some cocoa powder, almond milk, and a few berries.. delicious!

And dinner was a green smoothie topped with some nuts/raisins!

Oh, and I had some sweet potato chips w/ salsa but I accidentally deleted the picture.. made me sad.

Well I need to get back to studying for my exam today!

TREAT yourself!

Sometimes we’re all so into our diet and into our healthy lifestyles that we forget that we need to treat ourselves. I mean we are human after all. I’m not saying that we need to give into every desire that we have, but sometimes when your brain is screaming CHOCOLATE it’s best to give in.. Because if you don’t you might just find yourself sitting in front of the TV eating a whole gallon of chocolate ice cream, hating yourself every minute afterwards..

So what do I suggest? Well, I have a few tricks up my sleeve. Here are two recipes to allow yourself some sweets without having to feel bad about them!!

 

Banana Chocolate ‘Ice Cream’

Ingredients:

1 frozen banana (best if in fouths, it’s easier on the blender)

1/2 tbsp cocoa powder

1 tbsp nut butter (I used sunflower seed butter, because it was the current ‘nut’ butter that I had open)

1/2 cup almond milk

Toppings: Anything that you want.. Strawberries, sprinkles, nuts, ANYTHING!

 

Place the frozen banana, cocoa, nut butter, and milk into the blender. Blend until smooth. Add toppings and ENJOY!

 

 

Warm Banana/Apple Foster

Ingredients:

1/2 apple, cut into ‘chunks’

1/2 banana, cut into slices

1 tbsp coconut oil

1/4 cup Steve’s Original Cinnamon Krunch 

 

Melt the coconut oil in a pan. Add the apple chunks first, when one side is starting to look cooked flip the apples then add the banana. Flip the bananas once. Once both apples and bananas look cooked put in a bowl then top with Steve’s Original Cinnamon Krunch . ENJOY!
