EXTREME race day!

So, I told you guys on Friday that I’m running TWO races today! So let’s talk about it..

First, the weather.. Kona Chocolate Run starts at 8am.. Girls On The Run starts at 11am.. SO, if I’m lucky I MIGHT be able to stay dry! If not, oh well, I’m just happy that BOTH of my outfits consist of shorts! BOOM!

Kona is in Plymouth. So I’ll be leaving around 6:30am so that I can get to the park by 7am.. I didn’t pick up my race packet yesterday so I have to get there early to get my stuff, and use the potty of course!

Then come 8am we’re off!! 10K route I’ve heard is a really great route, I’ve heard lots of great things about it!

Hopefully I’ll finish in an hour, meaning I’ll be done around 9am. That gives me an hour to hang out and then mosey my way to my car to go to Kensington Metropark. Planning to go there around 10:30am or so.

Then I get to meet with my team before heading out for the 5K. Not exactly sure of the route, but honestly it’ll just be fun to hang out with the girls and their families! Not to mention see some of them finish their first 5K!

They’re giving us an hour and a half to finish, so hopefully all of my girls will be done by then! Not to mention I’ll need some serious lunch by 12:30pm post 10K and 5K!!


So there you have it! Sunday Race Day Extreme!!!


TREAT yourself!

Sometimes we’re all so into our diet and into our healthy lifestyles that we forget that we need to treat ourselves. I mean we are human after all. I’m not saying that we need to give into every desire that we have, but sometimes when your brain is screaming CHOCOLATE it’s best to give in.. Because if you don’t you might just find yourself sitting in front of the TV eating a whole gallon of chocolate ice cream, hating yourself every minute afterwards..

So what do I suggest? Well, I have a few tricks up my sleeve. Here are two recipes to allow yourself some sweets without having to feel bad about them!!


Banana Chocolate ‘Ice Cream’


1 frozen banana (best if in fouths, it’s easier on the blender)

1/2 tbsp cocoa powder

1 tbsp nut butter (I used sunflower seed butter, because it was the current ‘nut’ butter that I had open)

1/2 cup almond milk

Toppings: Anything that you want.. Strawberries, sprinkles, nuts, ANYTHING!


Place the frozen banana, cocoa, nut butter, and milk into the blender. Blend until smooth. Add toppings and ENJOY!



Warm Banana/Apple Foster


1/2 apple, cut into ‘chunks’

1/2 banana, cut into slices

1 tbsp coconut oil

1/4 cup Steve’s Original Cinnamon Krunch 


Melt the coconut oil in a pan. Add the apple chunks first, when one side is starting to look cooked flip the apples then add the banana. Flip the bananas once. Once both apples and bananas look cooked put in a bowl then top with Steve’s Original Cinnamon Krunch . ENJOY!
