WIAW {21 Day Fix}

It’s WEDNESDAYYYY. You know what that means?! Well, 1. I don’t teach. 2. Group run in the morning. 3. WHAT I ATE WEDNESDAY!

Let us take some time to thank Ms Jenn over at Peas and Crayons for hosting this lovely party every week! THANKS JENN!!

So anyways, I told you guys on Monday that I’m doing the 21 Day Fix! That means that my foods all have pretty colored hearts to go with them! (Minus the orange, have you noticed that there is no orange heart on the emoji keyboard for iPhone?! SAD!).. Anyways, here is what I had on MONDAY because you guys should know by now that I forget to take pictures of my food.

Screen Shot 2014-05-13 at 6.39.55 PM

Breakfast: Chocolate Shakeology (red), 1/2 banana (purple) and 1/2 cup almond milk (yellow)

Snack: (not pictured, raw pumpkin seeds (orange)).

Lunch: Spinach (green), quinoa (yellow), chicken (red) salad with hot sauce and some balsamic vinaigrette (1 tsp)

Snack: Raspberries/blueberries (purple) and hummus (blue) with carrots (green)

My “I wanted something sweet” pre-dinner snack: Strawberry shakeology (red) with 1/2 banana (purple)

Dinner: Sweet potato (yellow), chicken (red), and two servings of brussels cooked in coconut oil (2 green + 2 tsp)

Dinner was so big that I couldn’t finish all of the brussels! AND I LOVE BRUSSELS! So I’m working on eating differently during the day!

So it’s Wednesday. FINALLY! Let us first start with thanking Miss Jenn over at Peas & Crayons for hosting this wonderful party every week! THANKS JENN!

So now onto what happened to me food-wise (with a bit of life splashed in) on Tuesday.

I started out the morning NOT wanting to get up and go to the gym. Well, luckily when I turned over and looked at my phone (specifically on Instagram) I saw that Lisa at Run Fast Mama had posted her workout and it was EXACTLY what I needed to drag my butt out of bed.  So I went downstairs into my basement and did a 30 minute circuit!

This was then followed by a coffee Herbalife shake which was DELICIOUS!

Then, as usual, I had a mid-morning snack which was medium sized Granny Smith apple. Per usual I forgot to take a picture.

Then was lunch time. 1/2 sweet potato, pork tenderloin, and some baked veggies.

Sometime after finishing my column (science-y stuff) at work I decided to have another snack. Hummus w/ celery and carrots, followed by half a Quest Bar.

Dinner was unpictured and some pizza.. How could I pass up pizza when my wonderful boyfriend called, said that it sounds like I had a long day, and that he had pizza if I wanted to come over for dinner!!!

What I Ate Wednesday!

It has been a LONG time since I’ve done a WIAW.. Maybe because I feel like my meals just got boring and were all pretty much the same so I figured none of you guys wanted to see that.. Oh well. I guess if you don’t you can hit that little X in the corner of your screen now….

Are you still with me?! AWWWWW, I knew I liked you guys!

So let’s first give credit where credit is due: To Miss Jenn over at Peas & Crayons for organizing this awesome link up every week!

Now, onto my Tuesday eats.

My post-workout breakfast (which I totally forgot to photograph) was a delicious smoothie. Made of 1 cup frozen berries, 1 cup spinach, 1 cup unsweetened almond milk, 1 scoop light vanilla creme muscle milk, and 1 scoop vanilla Herbalife Formula 1.

I then made some coffee at work and proceeded to sip on it all morning.. I don’t know why, but coffee at work is never as good as coffee at home.

Morning snack is a must when I go to the gym in the morning. Since I ran out of my beloved Luna Protein bars,  I decided to snack on an apple that I brought to work but didn’t eat on Monday.

Lunch consisted on 1/2 chicken breast, ~1.5 cups of brussels, 1/2 cup of quinoa with some pasta sauce on top. Sorry, picture is half eaten as usual. OH, I even got to have two little grape leaves that my labmate brought from home.. Oh how I LOVE Lebanese food!

Got home around 5pm and started making dinner, but decided to try a Kroger brand greek yogurt that I just bought at the grocery store. It was really yummy!

Dinner is always a tough thing for me to decide on. Luckily I went grocery shopping on my way home and could pick up some food so that I could make some of my First Time Curry. Served the curry over some rice for a complete meal.

Dinner was at 6pm, so around 7pm so I didn’t have a grumbling tummy when I went to bed I had an apple and some organic peanut butter!
