Friday<<This weekend!

Those are less than signs.. or greater than I suppose, depending on how you read it.. But I read the traditional left to right, so out loud it says, “Friday less than This weekend!”… SO why is this weekend so awesome?! WELL, despite the fact that I don’t get to see my boyfriend (he’s hanging out with a friend at his cottage for this friend’s birthday) I’m going home today after work!

HOME! I haven’t been home in some time! So I’m going to go home to swim my parent’s lake (it’s 17acres in total), then we’re going to my nephew’s birthday party (he’s 3!), and then on Sunday we’re watching my little sister in a parade! OH, and on top of that we (my parents and I) are going to see Despicable Me 2 tonight! YAY!
So… My weekend will be awesome! PLUS I’m going to be making these Chocolate Chip Protein Muffins (Nut Free) from PaleOMG! I figured if I’m going to a birthday party it was only right to make sure I made something ‘birthday’ approved.. And I’m pretty sure those will do it! Not sure if anyone but me will eat them.. but oh well, that means more for me! =D

And now onto some other fun stuff… Or rather some fun facts!

1. I’ve decided to start incorporating group training in my training plan.. Monday I got in an almost 21mile ride out of the shop I race for, Level Multisport! THEN, Thursday I went to the group run and they were having a Saucony demo.. Well I already run in Saucony so I just ran the 5.36 miles in my own shoes.. THEN upon returning to the shop they did a drawing for a new pair of Saucony’s.. and guess who won?! THIS GIRL!!! So I’m getting a pair of these beauties soon! (Same shoe that I already have, just the new model!) Yes.. I was STOKED!

2. Sometimes you have to treat yourself… I’ve been trying to get back down to race weight (put on a few pounds over 4th of July), so I’ve been trying to stay away from anything too sweet.. But after the group ride, and run, there’s a conveniently placed Starbucks on my way home.. So I decided that on those days I’m allowed to have a treat.. Hot Americano with a splash of cold heavy whipping cream.

3.. So I told you on Wednesday that I was going to the Farmer’s Market again.. So check out all of this awesome local food I got.. Peaches, cherries, peppers, & romaine lettuce! All of this for $9.50!

4. So I finally joined a new gym! I’ve joined the YMCA in my area… It’s not that I don’t have access to a gym, it’s just that I don’t like having to go to the gym RIGHT before or after work.. So the YMCA has a pool with good lap swim hours, a decent cardio/weights area, and some group exercise classes.. I’m excited to try out kickboxing sometime soon!!

5. I mentioned that my little sister is in a parade this weekend! Well that’s because the fair in the county I grew up in is starting this weekend! It makes me sad that I’m too old to hang out there all week, but at the same time it’s probably a good thing because I can’t handle all of that sugary/greasy/non-paleo food.. My body really doesn’t like it when I shock it like that! BUT I’m excited to at least be at the fair for awhile on Sunday!

Left Overs from Memorial Day Weekend- WIAW

So, I want to pre-face this post with a few things. 1. I’m not perfect. 2. I love non-paleo foods. and 3. Due to feeling like poop after this weekend, I’m currently eating paleo strictly again because it makes me FEEL better.. But that being said, here are the ‘not-so-paleo’ foods that I consumed on Tuesday.

Had some reading to do. So I decided to head into campus, grab some Starbucks then plant myself down to read.. American with Heavy Whipping Cream.. The barista asked me if I wanted my ‘usual’ when I walked up.. aka: It’ll be awhile before I go back there.. Not completely a good thing when the barista knows your order.. especially one that is high in fat.

In come the left overs.. Pictured is left over Seafood Brodetto that I got for lunch at Olive Garden on Monday while coming home from being up north with my boyfriend and his family! Honestly this is probably ‘pretty-paleo’.. however I’m going to start sticking to the salmon w/ veggies or the ‘mixed grill’ with veggies just to be sure… This isn’t on the gluten free menu, so there must be some sneaky gluten in the broth!

And let’s bring in the last of the left overs.. Jet’s Pizza.. My all time weakness.. We were watching the Red Wings game Monday night and pizza just sounded good.. and easy.. But as usual, didn’t leave me feeling to great Monday or yesterday.. Another another reminder as to why I’m going back to strict paleo.. It really does make me feel better!

Well as usual, make sure to send some love to Ms Jenn and her growing little pea over at Peas & Crayons!

Boston in my heart- WIAW

It’s safe to say that I’ve had my fair share of crying due to Boston.. Sending prayers to Boston!

But as following any tragedy we have to pick ourselves back up and keep on going, so for that reason I’m going to do WIAW as planned.

As usual make sure to go show some love to our wonderful host, Jenn, over at her blog Peas and Crayons!!

You should all know about my breakfast at this point.. hasn’t changed in a long long time..

Have I mentioned lately that I have exams ALL THE TIME!! Well, in better news, I’m almost done!! Starbucks for some studying with an Americano with heavy cream, as per.

By the time I got home I ate so fast I didn’t take a picture of lunch.. but it was essentially this.. without the spaghetti squash.. recipe to come!

Apple and banana to follow.. the banana wasn’t ripe enough, but it was still yummy!!

Looks like ice cream or a shake huh? Well it’s 1/2 frozen banana, some cocoa powder, almond milk, and a few berries.. delicious!

And dinner was a green smoothie topped with some nuts/raisins!

Oh, and I had some sweet potato chips w/ salsa but I accidentally deleted the picture.. made me sad.

Well I need to get back to studying for my exam today!
